2. A Wife's Appraisal

The man of God that I married some years ago I can honestly say is still so much more the man of God today. Many recognise the call on his life and the anointing that resides which courses him to operate as an apostle and prophet. And yet to many he is their pastor. Day after day I see him pouring over books in his study. Praying and seeking God’s face, Planning one itinerary trip after another, to preach in the smallest most remote churches and to some of the largest most well known. He prepares himself to go where ever the Spirit of God says,” Now go…”

He is my husband, best friend, mentor, and my pastor. And also I believe a General in the Army of the living God today. Some years ago, Alan received a fresh mandate from the Lord during a meeting in the north of Italy. Standing on the platform in the praise and worship time, just about to give the word, when the Lord came upon him strongly with the following command;

...‘Go from nation to nation, raising up an army for the end times, training and equipping the saints for the glory of God’.

I have never seen any one more committed to anything in my entire life as I have seen Alan committed to his call. It doesn’t matter what has come against, brought a snag snare or a trip; he just refuses to quit and moves right on. He has something on the inside of him that is stronger than anything human: The strength of God, Enormous yet tenderly sweet!

I recognise many of the same qualities in my husband as in the lives and ministries of the Great Generals that you will discover within this BLOG. (Can I say such a thing about my husband? Oh it is my joy!) I have been both inspired and encouraged by the many stories and even of the plights that had befallen them.

Hebrew says… that God is the rewarder of those who diligently seek him … and if there is one major thing that I have learnt from my husband is that you must never, never quit, Never, never give up. Just keep running; obeying, yielding, loving, learning and hearing His voice and God will have his way!

In any case, as you read these BLOG’s you will become aware, if you are not already, that there is a great cost to the call! As Kathryn Khulman once said, “It will cost you everything…” I live with a man whom I consider to be one of God’s great generals of today and the price I have watched him pay for the Gospel. And yet he still becomes more of what I would aspire to be, A true servant of God. We have experienced together some of the stories like you will read here, and know that the same faith applies today as it did then. Nothing has changed in regards to the life of faith!

I pray, along with my husband that as you read these BLOG’s of these godly lives, that you will allow the Holy Spirit to reveal things to you that will enhance your journey in becoming all that He wants you to be. Be inspired! Their lives speak well to us all. The truths of the Holy Spirit have never changed and may you catch hold of some rich and godly wisdom as you read these compelling stories. I have both wept and laughed as I have read this material and I am firmly convinced that the reader who reads prayerfully will be truly touched. Feel the anointing as you turn the pages as I have done and may God strengthen and increase you in the process.

For the last few years there has been a great desire within me to write and put together material on the great men and women of God who not only have gone before us but also those who are still very much in the race today. Those that we can look up to and learn from because of their successes or failures, those who are very much anointed that God has positioned in the world today. Thus the reason for this BLOG is for my own interest, historical interest, one that I can learn from and be inspired by. But also a BLOG that Christians alike, weather leaders or up and coming bible school students or church members might also find of great benefit and of inspiration in their own Christian walk. Therefore I present this BLOG to you, not for any personal credit as most of the material has already been in print in one form or another.

There has been a lot of material printed on the subject of God’s Generals. Perhaps there has even been an awakening to the true meaning of Ministry Outreach, Evangelisation, etc. With Bible Schools being established around the world at an enormous pace, as revival is on the lips and in the hearts of many a committed man and woman in the body of Christ. Leaders are seeing that organised systems, rehearsals, good meaningful ideas are not reaching the neighbourhood for Christ. So many desire to find out the ways in which it can be achieved.

The simple answer of course is that all things are possible through Christ and the leading of the Holy Spirit. Who helps us in our quest and search for that perfect place where we too can tread within that divine race? Helping us to find the how’s and whey’s within His divine plan for our individual lives.

Let us take the biographies and testimonies that we read about, not only through this BLOG but the many others, and apply to our lives the divine truth that we find. Developing us and giving understanding and safeguards that will keep us straight upon the path that we take.

I pray that the divine anointing that is and has been upon these Anointed Generals Past and Present will be afforded to flow upon our heads. That those who are reported to be the generals of today would be strong enough - humble enough - to give time to those who desire to learn and grow and be established. So that what God has given to them will be our inheritance for the future. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
